Runia Soul Cafe is dedicated to our beloved family member, Runia Gazi.
She lived her entire life loving and caring for others, bringing care and genuine laughter wherever she was. She was a selfless child who fought for her own life, and hoped to bring freedom to her family.
At Runia Soul Café we serve authentic delicious, bold, soulful dishes from around the world, made with love and intention.
Runia Soul Cafe is nestled inside the ASHHO Cultural Community Center—a dream created by founder Khurshida Begum.

Runia Soul Cafe is full of intentional beauty—diamond-framed art, sparkling details, and portraits of strong women holding their heads high. This café tells a story of joy, freedom, and rising again.
When you eat at Runia Soul Café, you are giving someone hands on job training experience.
In February 2025, we launched our first Trauma Informed, 12-Week Paid Culinary & Hospitality Job Training Program.
Runia Soul Cafe serves as the training ground for our students to learn the ins and outs of working in a restaurant setting.
Come for the Food—Dine with Purpose
At Runia Soul Cafe you can eat and feed someone through our Community Feeding Program by adding $15 to your meal or by becoming a Monthly Feeder. By paying it forward you can help feed someone facing hunger, crisis, illness, or housing insecurity.
In 2020, Khurshida Begum and her husband Rubel Mina began a Buy One Give One Program from their home kitchen. Since then, ASHHO has donated over 13,000 (and counting!).
